This workshop is for couples who want to develop good communication, an effective system and a shared vision for financial planning. As financial and communication problems are the two main reasons couples seek counseling, developing a financial plan together can not only secure your future and provide the lifestyle you both want, it can prevent relationship conflict and increase your happiness as a couple. Participants may be at various stages in their relationship (i.e. living together, engaged, married, etc.).
This workshop addresses the following:
• Become aware of how early life experiences impacted you and your partner’s financial style • Assess for compulsive and impulsive financial behaviors • Discover emotional motivations for spending and saving • Understand your financial priorities and those of your partner • Recognize how the roles you play with regard to finances reflect and affect your relationship • Learn how merging your financial lives impacts you both and the relationship • Understand the importance of being organized and having a system • Create a shared vision of your financial life • Recognize the need for a plan with structure and achievable goals
