Important Information about Counseling and Blue Cross & Blue Shield PPO In the Chicago Area
Urban Balance, LLC is an insurance-friendly practice. Many other practices either do not accept insurance or simply furnish their clients with receipts for them to submit to their insurance companies, which can lead to claims being denied, incorrectly processed, or covered at a lower out-of-network rate.
UB therapists are credentialed as a group and UB is a Preferred Provider of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Illinois PPO. This means UB is able to offer our clients the in-network rate of coverage at any of our Illinois counseling offices in downtown Chicago, Chicago Ravenswood, Evanston and Libertyville. Rather than clients being charged UB’s usual rate of $150 for the first session and $125 thereafter, Blue Cross & Blue Shield members receive a discounted rate of $124.20 for the first session and $75.60 for every session thereafter.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield typically offers generous mental health coverage as compared to other insurance companies. Most plans provide generous coverage for outpatient counseling and therapy services. Blue Cross & Blue Shield insurance members typically only pay between $7.56 to $37.80 per session depending on the plan purchased by the member’s employer. UB has an in-house billing service that checks clients’ benefits and submits and follows up on claims on behalf of the client.
UB therapists explain coverage options to new clients, and collect copayments at each session. UB offers clients the flexibility to pay co-payments with cash, check, credit card, or health care pre-paid credit cards. UB also furnishes receipts for flexible spending plans so that clients can save money in tax payments. Urban Balance is a partner with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois in providing affordable, accessible, premiere counseling services for individuals, couples and families in Chicago and North Chicagoland Area.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield recently retracted the need for pre-authorization for therapy services. This helps clients access their benefits and receive the care they need. For more information about this, please visit:
