Many clients at Urban Balance seek therapy about relationship issues. Some people desire to find a relationship or life partner and are dealing with challenges of navigating the world of dating in this technological age, dealing with loneliness, or feelings of loss in possibly not having the life they envisioned for themselves with regard to marriage or family.
Others are dealing with the challenges and stress of communicating and managing boundaries and intimacy in a relationship. Sometimes people think finding a relationship or getting out of one will fix their problems. Sometimes we end up recreating the same issues in our lives until we work through them in self-exploration or therapy. Sometimes the issue lies within ourselves.
Therapy is a place to work on becoming your best self whether you are in or out of a relationship. If you work on self care, personal development, and your support systems – you will improve your happiness regardless of your relationship status. You will also increase clarity and insight about making decisions about your relationships. Healthy people attract healthy people and have healthy relationships. Nobody is perfect, but if we work on ourselves we can improve our relationships.
