For the 13th consecutive year, UB Co-Founder Joyce Marter was honored to be invited to serve as a panelist for the annual Career’s Night for the Masters of Counseling Psychology program at The Family Institute at Northwestern University. The panelists were a select group of alumni from the program who were invited to speak to current and prospective graduate students about their career trajectory and current work in the field of psychology. Joyce spoke about her history of Employee Assistance Program work, establishing a private practice, the process of co-founding and managing Urban Balance with business partner, Lori Hall, and expanding the counseling practice into Evanston and the North Shore. A question and answer segment followed the presentation, and the event wrapped up with informal networking between the therapists-in-training and the panelists. Joyce has enjoyed serving as a mentor and consultant to many students and graduates of this program over the years, and sees this as an important opportunity to give back to the community of psychology. |
