Joyce Marter, LCPC, recently presented to the clinical staff of Hazelden Chicago, a renowned treatment facility that provides world-class drug and alcohol services including outpatient programs, continuing care, and family programs.
Joyce discussed her extensive experience in providing assessment, treatment and referral services for people dealing with addiction and co-dependency issues. She explained the philosophy of Urban Balance - that we all deal with issues like addiction, depression, anxiety or relationship problems at different points in our lives as part of the human condition, and seeking therapy is something normal, healthy and proactive to heal and move forward in our lives. Additionally, Joyce discussed UB's mission of making therapy accessible and affordable by accepting most insurance and providing an internal billing service.
Finally, Joyce explained that UB therapists appreciate and understand the relationships between addiction and psychological issues, and many UB staff specialize in the treatment in addictions.
Joyce was excited to learn about new programs and services offered at Hazelden:
