Northwestern University has selected Urban Balance as an externship site for second-year masters students. UB's Evanston counseling office is honored to provide The Masters of Counseling Program of The Family Institute with clinical experience, consultation and mentoring for a student intern during the 2010-2011 academic year.
The student therapist will provide therapy for individuals, couples and families under the supervision of UB staff therapist, Sarah Roane, LCPC. Sarah Roane is a seasoned counselor with experience supervising Northwestern masters students. The student will also have the opportunity to facilitate a group or workshop and to help with some research and marketing projects.
UB Co-Founder, Joyce Marter, will also mentor the student on the ins and outs of private practice. UB is excited about this opportunity to give back to the North Shore community, and the counseling field, and we hope to host more students from area schools in the future.
