UB Welcomes Northwestern Clinical Interns Offering Sliding Fee Services
Urban Balance is excited to welcome Rebecca Zalman and Jennifer Nudell to its clinical team.  Rebecca and Jennifer are both in their second year at the Masters of Counseling Psychology Program of The Family Institute at Northwestern University.  They will be conducting their clinical externships at UB for the 2011-2012 academic year.  Both therapists-in-training will be working with individuals, couples and families at UB's downtown Chicago and Evanston offices.  The students will be directly supervised by Joyce Marter, LCPC, UB owner and alum of the Counseling Psychology program.  Both interns were carefully selected from a wide pool of candidates and UB is honored to train two such bright and talented clinicians.

Urban Balance is also pleased to offer clients sliding fee services as low as $45 per session with these clinical interns.  UB continues to make therapy accessible and affordable by working with most insurance as well as offering sliding fee services.

Jennifer Nudell

Jennifer Nudell is a second year graduate student at Northwestern University, pursuing a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology. Last year, Jennifer interned at the Family Institute as a student therapist. She worked with individuals seeking assistance for a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, transitional issues, grief and loss, and eating disorders. While Jennifer’s training has focused on a psychodynamic approach, she likes to work with clients from an integrative perspective, utilizing interventions rooted in cognitive-behavioral, strength-based, dialectical-behavioral, and existential theory. Jennifer received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy from Boston University. During this time, Jennifer volunteered at a shelter for homeless women and children and as a phone operator at a parental stress hotline, providing resources and emotional support for distressed parents in need of assistance. Following her undergraduate education, Jennifer worked in customer service management and human relations, developing her abilities to problem solve and to understand and attend to the unique needs of individuals. Jennifer is excited to continue her clinical training at Urban Balance and to work with a wide variety of clients.
