Urban Balance Co-Owner, Joyce Marter, LCPC has been honored to have been selected to serve on the board of the Illinois Mental Health Counselors Assosication (IMHCA), a division of the Illinois Counselors Association. The Illinois Counselors Association (ICA) is a division of the American Counselors Association (ACA). The mission of IMHCA is to promote the professional well-being of mental health counselors in Illinois through advocacy, education, and support services, and thereby contribute to the good of society.
Joyce looks forward to contributing her knowledge and expertise towards IMHCA's lobbying efforts at both the state and national levels of legislation. During her term on the board, she hopes to increase awareness among counselors of the many important services of IMHCA, including its advocacy of the LPC and LCPC credentials. Joyce aspires to increase IMHCA membership and participation in workshops, trainings, and events as well as counselor access to information and resources that assist in professional development.
