UB's Co-Owner Joyce Marter, LCPC, yesterday guest lectured to the masters students in the Counseling Psychology program at The Family Institute at Northwestern on dual diagnosis. Dual diagnosis occurs when someone has both a mental disorder and an alcohol or drug problem. These conditions occur together frequently.
Joyce graduated from the Family Institute and is proud to continue to support her alma mater with both guest lecturing and student mentoring as well as providing student internships at UB's Evanston counseling office.
Founded in 1968, The Family Institute at Northwestern University is the premier organization devoted to family and couples therapy, community outreach, research and the education of family therapists.
