Do you have trouble falling asleep, or do you wake up frequently during the night? You're not alone. Roughly 30 percent of adults experience symptoms of insomnia — and for some, this tossing and turning can last for about a month. In general, there are four types of insomnia: primary, secondary, acute, and chronic. Especially if this lack of sleep is interfering with your daytime activities, it's essential to see a doctor. The sooner you determine the cause, the sooner you can combat those restless nights.
